During this group, we meet for about an hour in smaller groups.
The small groups have a variety of topics:
WORDS & SPEECH
Practice words, phrases, and sentences to increase your ability to clearly express your thoughts and needs in different settings.
CONVERSATION
Practice conversational speech with others who have aphasia.
READING BASIC
Read and understand written words and phrases.
READING INTERMEDIATE
Read and discuss sentences.
READING ADVANCED
Read and discuss articles.
GAMES
Fun activities to help with word recall and memory.
IMPROV
Using words and gestures to communicate

***CO-SURVIVOR GROUP ***
A co-survivor is a loved one, friend, caregiver or anyone whose life has been impacted by changes in their communication with the person with aphasia.
The co-survivor group meets on the same night as the aphasia group, but at 7:30 pm, not at 5 pm. The co-survivor group is led by Christine Beverin, CCC-SLP.
If you are joining us for the first time, let us know which small group you would like to start with. If you are not sure, we can help you decide.
You are welcome to change groups at any time.

Aphasia Narratives Gavel Club
meets for 2 hours weekly.
Small group and individualized treatment sessions
- To present personal narratives in a group
- Build structure and cohesiveness in the narrative/discourse
- Increase confidence to address an audience/participate in social interactions
- Implement active listening during conversation
- Self-awareness for conversational repair
Mission: Small group format with individualized functional treatment for people with mild aphasia to support engagement in their personal lives through improved word recall in conversation and shared narratives to increase confidence, peer support, and independence with communication.

IAM
IAM assists people with speech and language problems
due to the disability of aphasia caused by a stroke or other brain injury.
We provide no-charge speech and language therapy, resources and community
in supportive group settings to anyone with aphasia.
Groups are held in several locations —
